ARLINGTON — Chief Julie Flaherty reports that the Arlington Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Sunday afternoon.
On Sunday, Nov. 19, at approximately 1:45 p.m. Arlington Police and Arlington Fire responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the area of Park Avenue and Wollaston Avenue.
A preliminary investigation determined that a Toyota Corolla struck a female pedestrian, 81, of Arlington, as she was crossing Park Avenue in a crosswalk.
The female pedestrian was treated at the scene by Arlington Fire EMS/Rescue. She was transported by Arlington Fire/EMS to an area hospital for further treatment of injuries.
The driver, a 79-year-old Arlington woman, remained at the scene and is cooperating with an ongoing investigation. She did not report any injuries.
Park Avenue was closed during the investigation and was reopened at 4:25 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation by the Arlington Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
