APD Officers are required to perform continuing education through In-Service Training. Each year, our officers are required to do 40 hours of training. Click here to learn about In-Service Training.
In addition, APD goes above and beyond what is required by state law and seeks out trainings that assist officers in better serving the community. We required officers to participate in de-escalation training along with trainings in procedural justice and implicit biased and we are committed to 21st century policing.
